Mainly seen in private homes in Chandigarh circa 1961-62, the square dining table with its compact dimensions is just as much a sensible space-saving investment today as it was back then. The style is a clear indicator of Pierre Jeanerret’s forward thinking approach to furniture design that was all about practical and sophisticated pieces. The solid teakwood table has a slatted square top supported by straight, tapered and flat profiled legs. An ‘X’ shaped crosspiece connects the legs together underneath the top.
